Explore Your City: Stockholm
I have been living in Stockholm for almost ten years now, and I still get amazed by the pulse of the city, the restaurants and how many new things happens every day. I often find myself rediscovering the city I live in, and go out and explore the amazing streets of Stockholm. I got so excited when Peroni Nastro Azzurro asked me to be interviewed and share some tips about my city, so I sat down with few friends at Eataly and answered few questions. You can read the whole interview below.
To celebrate the arrival of summer, we have teamed up with influencers from around the world to showcase the most stylish bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a Peroni Nastro Azzurro. We asked Italian-born, Stockholm-based menswear and travel blogger, Luca Deasti, about his fashion icons, the style of his adopted city and his favourite hangouts in Stockholm.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
My style is always changing! It really depends on the season, but I like to experiment a lot with my personal style. Right now, I'm all about suits. I like to combine Italian fabrics with more casual denim and lots of accessories.
ARE YOU INFLUENCED BY ITALIAN STYLE?
Of course! I grew up in Italy, so I take a lot of inspiration from my culture – from classic Italian movie stars like Marcello Mastroianni to contemporary designers like Francesco Ragazzi.
NAME YOUR STYLE ICONS
I have so many style icons! I get inspiration from everywhere: musicians, designers and fashion enthusiasts. Some of my personal favourites are Virgil Abloh, Alessandro Michele and A$AP Rocky to name a few.
WHAT SETS STOCKHOLM APART FROM ANY OTHER CITY?
I have a love/hate relationship with Stockholm. The city can frustrate you with its dark winters, only for you to fall in love again every spring when the cherry trees blossom in the main square.
Stockholm is a vibrant city with a variety of restaurants, great music and an amazing sense of style.
DESCRIBE STOCKHOLM IN THREE WORDS
Contemporary, Welcoming, Progressive.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE STYLE OF STOCKHOLM?
Stockholm is a great city thanks to its many unique styles. People are very fashion-conscious and have recently moved away from the minimalistic style that once was very popular in the city. Stockholm also happens to be a sneakers mecca with some great international footwear stores where you can find some of the latest drops.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVOURITE SPOTS IN STOCKHOLM?
I love to hang out at restaurants. There are a few that offer dinner and then turn into a club, such as Vassa Eggen, Boqueria and Tjoget. When I miss home, I usually head to Eataly for a true Italian food experience!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO ORDER AT EATALY?
I love that I can get a taste of home here. The thing that I miss the most about Italy is all the amazing prosciutto crudo, mortadella and bresaola, which are sometimes hard to find in Stockholm! Also, the 'Fiori di Zucca' (deep fried squash blossom), is something that my mum always cooks for me when I'm home, and something I rarely see when I'm abroad. When I eat at Eataly, I'm always looking out for these food items so I can share an aperitivo with my friends. Believe it or not, aperitivo is not very common in Sweden, and only a few places offer it.
